who we are

TBG consultants are intelligent, passionate, and enthusiastic undergraduates from UC Berkeley who come from incredibly diverse backgrounds and are skilled in various fields of expertise. These qualities allow our consultants to craft innovative solutions for clients, while developing long-lasting relationships within the club.

Though members may differ in their interests and career aspirations, our consultants share a genuine passion and enthusiasm for the social sector.

who we look for

We look for a diverse range of majors, years, experiences, and career interests. We look for students with critical thinking skills, the ability to work well on a team, the potential for leadership, and passion for the social sector.

projects

All TBG consultants are staffed on a semester-long strategy project with one of five nonprofit clients.

You will work on a team with 3 to 4 other consultants and a project leader.

commitment

TBG consultants work for a minimum of two consecutive semesters, per our minimum commitment requirement.

The time commitment is about 10 to 15 hours per week.

why TBG?

Social impact

TBG consultants craft effective solutions to the problems faced by nonprofit organizations. To see the social impact we’ve made, see what some of our past clients have to say about our work!

Professional
development

At TBG, we strive to provide our consultants with the tools to become effective leaders in all industries. Our weekly trainings from companies such as PwC, Accenture, and New Sector Alliance allow our consultants to complement professional development with the hands-on business experiences of project work.

TBG alumni go on to pursue careers at leading firms including McKinsey & Company, Bain & Company, Goldman Sachs, and JP Morgan. The breadth of interests within TBG, however, also means that many of our alumni pursue a wide variety of post-graduation opportunities outside of business. Alumni can also be found in prestigious medical, law, and engineering positions (to name a few!) all over the country.

TBG love

TBG fosters a culture (known internally as “TBG Love”) in which your colleagues can also become your close friends.

Our formal social events like the semesterly weekend retreat are augmented by informal social gatherings, like Napa winery tours and impromptu food truck outings to Oakland.
TBG-ers are an undeniably talented and driven group of students. It's very rare that college undergrads find an opportunity to both make a meaningful impact in the community and gain valuable professional development skills, but TBG is that opportunity.
